Communications Design is a process.
Graphic design and web design are processes that bring together art, words, colors and texture in a logical, aesthetic and efficient combination that effectively communicates your message.
The process also takes place on a personal basis.Getting to know you.
It gets started with finding out about your organization or business. The things to identify are:
- the objective
- the audience to be influenced
- competitors and what you do that sets you apart
- marketing successes and failures
- the core mission
- what is the perceived image of your organization
Gathering the content.
WebbGraphics collects the content for your marketing collateral (brochure, flyer, newsletter, direct mail, etc.) or begins mapping out the structure of your website. Colors and typography that fit your image are important elements.Copywriting
Concise and crisp wording helps develop the message in a credible and persuasive style. The objective is to find the phrases that catch interest and move the reader to action.Design
Using these elements and the informaton provided about your organization, the design process begins to create the visually inviting product. Visual impact, especially with a powerfully attractive cover or a website home page, propels readers' attention to explore the content within and receive the message.Communication
WebbGraphics communicates along the process. Once the preliminary design has been developed, it is reviewed with the client to make sure that we agree on the direction it is taking. There are usually adjustments to be made with the first viewing of the project. Any suggestions will then be incorporated.Final draft
When it is ready for production, the final draft will be presented. This is another opportunity to review the orginal objective and to assure that what is being created will produce the results expected. The final draft will confirm that the material is graphically appealing, that images and illustrations are accurate and of high quality, that the content is correct, typographically and grammatically.Production
Once it is finally approved, WebbGraphics contracts with the printer and discusses the project. The printer's pre-press technician reviews the computer files and any adjustments are made. The printer's proof will be carefully checked to assure that the printed product will be of the highest quality. Placement of images, location of folding and, once again, an opportunity to proofread the content are provided by this final proof. Once completed, the high-quality marketing product is delivered and ready to be put to work for your business.
